Coffee Affogato

With cream, ice cream and the mouth-watering creaminess of espresso coffee, the affogato al caffè (coffee affogato) is perfect either as a dessert or for a small, sweet treat throughout the day.
Ingredients
  • 25-30 ml shot of espresso coffee
  • 40 g cream-flavoured or vanilla ice cream
  • Fresh liquid cream
  • Cocoa powder
Time required 20'
Procedure
  1. Start preparing the affogato al caffè (coffee affogato) by whipping the liquid cream. If you prefer, you can lightly sweeten it by adding a little icing sugar.
  2. Put one or two scoops of cream-flavoured or vanilla ice cream in a tall glass cup.
  3. Now add the coffee: you can either pour the espresso coffee directly into the same cup or serve it in a small ceramic pot and let everyone fill their own cup.
  4. Top the cup by adding the whipped cream and drizzle with a little cocoa powder.

If you prefer, you can substitute the cocoa powder with a chocolate topping, or some melted dark chocolate.
